(scroll down for
details)
Name: Finnegan (a.k.a. Finn, Finnegan the Red)
Breed: Siberian Husky mix
Sex: Male (neutered)
Age: c. 15 months (born May 2007)
Weight: 46 lbs
Coat Color: dilute copper with white undercoat. Open face. Liver points. Snow nose.
Eye Color: amber-gold tinged with green and rimmed in black. Uniquely beautiful!
Physical Health: Healthy. Needs some serious grooming as his original owners let his
gorgeous coat get severely matted and dry.
Current Vet Care: he's been fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, and neutered; treated for
        roundworms with Drontel.
Temperament: quintessential Siberian: friendly, curious, sweet, smart, affectionate,
playful, outgoing, and happy-go-lucky. Adaptable, adventurous, benevolent-alpha
type. Also tends to think he's a lap dog and will do anything for a belly rub. Rides well
in cars, though definitely requires strong restraints/harnessing. Is well behaved at the
vet and is good about taking his medicine. Lives to run! His harness is his favorite
thing in the world (well, tied with belly rubs).
HOUDINI ALERT! This is not a "starter
husky" and requires an experienced & breed-knowledgeable owner.

Heartworm test: negative; on monthly preventative
Flea & tick: on monthly preventative
UTD on shots? DHLPPL / 1 year Rabies / Bordatella
Housetrained? yes
Cratetrained? yes
Leashtrained? working on it (he's a puller)
Good with dogs? very, he'll need a home with at least 1 other dog
Good with cats? no
Good with kids? yes, he loves kids
Known Commands: Gee, Come Gee, Haw, Come Haw, On By, Sit, Wait, Down, Come.
Sledding Potential: good team or wheel dog. Strong drive & a good firm pull to back it up.
Listens well and reacts quickly. Good gait, knows how to pace himself at a nice trot.
Would be a great CaniX companion too! Come see Finn run on Nov 8-9 in Kirtland,
    OH:
Trailbreakers Sled Dog Club Dryland Challenge, proudly sponsored by HHRRT.

History: We don't know anything about Finn's original owners, other than they dumped
him off at a shelter in MI. He was rescued from death row by North West Ohio
Siberian Husky Rescue and transferred to HHRRT. It's clear that he was trained on a
sled team. Raven and Ridley are fostering Finnegan until his forever family finds him.
Ideal owner:  Like all huskies, Finn has a high energy level, so an active family would be
best. A fenced yard (6' or higher) will be greatly preferred since he's a runner. He
would make a great addition to a recreational sled team or Canicross.
A sled dog
experienced owner would be best, but a husky-experienced owner is a must!
More
updates as we learn more about this sweet confident boy.
All HHRRT foster dogs receive:
Vaccines: DHLPPL, Bordatella, 1 year Rabies
Spay / Neuter: if by chance you adopt a puppy younger than 6
months of age, you will be required per the adoption contract to
have the pup altered at the appropriate age. No dog older than 6
months will be adopted out without first being altered.
Heartworm test: if positive, the dog will undergo necessary
treatment. If negative, the dog will go on monthly preventative.
Flea & Tick prevention: dips, Capstar, etc if needed + monthly
topical preventative
Microchipping: after adoption, you will become the primary
contact person. Husky Havoc RRT
MUST remain as the secondary
contact for the life of the dog.
Vet Care: any additional medical, surgical, and/or behavioral care
the individual dog requires.
Training: housetraining, leash training, crate training, basic
obedience (i.e., Sit, Come, Stay). Healthy adults may be trained in
harness to run on a recreational sled team during the fall and
winter.
Dogs will be sent home with: collar, leash, their favorite toy, a
week's worth of kibble, microchip papers, adoption contract, rabies
tag, vet health forms, and a copy of
"It's a Sibe Thing...You
Wouldn't Understand" by Raven Delaval
Finn will do anything for a belly rub, including pinning
you to the bed and rolling Sunny Sibe Up. And check
out the Finn Grin! He's always smiling.
