| Vyla F, c. 10 yr old Siberian Husky black &white blue eyes snow nose (scroll down for details) |
| Name: Vyla (a.k.a. Vy) Breed: Siberian Husky Sex: Female (spayed) Age: c. 10-11 yrs Weight: 57 lbs Coat Color: Black and white; her fur is very thick and soft. Open face. Snow nose. Eye Color: blue Physical Health: Vyla is on the road to recovery after needing surgery, and after her months of abandonment. Current Vet Care: She needed to have a goose-egg sized tumor removed from her abdomen, but thankfully it was benign! Before adoption, she will be microchipped and vaccinated, but we're waiting until she fully heals from her surgery. Temperament: sweet, mellow, loving, curious. Vyla doesn't have to be in your face or on your lap, she just wants to be with you and oversee whatever it is you're doing. Loves to take walks, ride in the car with you on your errands, and curl up with you on the couch. Vocal, with a lovely woo and howl (we haven't heard her actually bark once yet). Gets along well with other dogs and people, but not safe with cats. Heartworm test: negative; on monthly preventative (revolution) Flea & tick: on monthly preventative (revolution) UTD on shots? will receive DHLPPL / 1 year Rabies / Bordatella Housetrained? yes Cratetrained? yes Leashtrained? yes Harness Trained? no Good with dogs? yes Good with cats? no Good with kids? unknown yet Known Commands: Sit, Wait, Down, Kennel Up, Go Drive, Leave It. History: Vyla was simply abandoned in a trailer by her original owner. He would bring her food once a week, then stopped doing even that little. She has scars on her muzzle and along her flanks and belly; we're not certain what they're from. She managed to escape and was found by some good samaritans who cared for her until HHRRT took her in to foster. We named her Vyla based on the character Viola from Shakespeare's "Twelfth Night," who first appears as a hard living soldier but turns out to be a sweet beautiful woman in disguise. Ideal owner: Anyone who loves huskies and is willing to adopt a senior dog; Vyla is very adaptable and easy going. Huskies can live to be 18 years old, so she has plenty of life left. If you love sibes but don't want the insanity that comes with raising a young one, give Vy a chance. |
